A direct access residence for homeless 16 to 25 year olds in Stroud.
PurposeSeason House is a secure, high support, direct access residence for 16-25 years olds who are either homeless or facing housing crisis. There are 10 individual fully furnished rooms. Clients share the use of a kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry room. This provides the optimum balance between independence and communal living and helps young people to adapt to their new surroundings during crucial stages in their life. Many will have lived a chaotic lifestyle prior to moving into Season House and occasionally some clients may exhibit challenging behaviour. Emphasis is placed on structure and routine, both to create a sense of care and security and to prepare young people for the difficult transition to independent living. The ethos of Season House is to create an environment which focuses on meeting the physical, emotional, social, cultural and aspirational needs of the individual. Staffing and SupportSeason House is permanently staffed 24 hours per day. All clients have an allocated Support Coordinator who is responsible for assessing their long term housing and support needs, leading to the implementation of an agreed Support and Development Plan. This portable support package makes use of external specialist service providers and avoids longer term dependency on CCP. Resettlement and Move On
Season House is short term accommodation and therefore a Resettlement Plan must begin by the second week of each resident’s stay. The typical length of stay is 4 to 12 weeks, though exceptions will be made when awaiting accommodation in a specialist unit such as detoxification or mental health. |
