CCP Musical Youth Concerts and Seminars

A showcase for young musicians, and a helping hand to break into the music industry.

CCP Musical Youth Concert

In September 2010, CCP Musical Youth held a concert to celebrate CCP’s 21st birthday and showcase some of the talents and achievements of young people who access the studio.

Hosted at Cheltenham Ladies' College Parabola Arts Centre,  the concert included outstanding performances from some of CCP Musical Youth’s regular artists, including Ariana, A Dott, J Jewlz, and Rufio Summers. These young up-and-coming local acts were joined by 80’s reggae maestro’s "Musical Youth" for a fantastic evening of fundraising and entertainment.

Following on from the success of the inaugral event in 2010, we plan to make this an annual feature in Cheltenham's entertainment calendar. We are already planning the 2011 concert to showcase some of the new acts that have been working in the MY Studios this year. They will be joined on-stage by another top notch special guest.

The 2011 concert will take place on Friday 28th October.

Put the date in your diary and check back here regularly for more information and updates on the line-up.

CCP Musical Youth Seminar

To follow up the great success of the CCP MY Concert, the Musical Youth Project decided to do something a little different… so we held a Seminar for young people in Gloucestershire who are interested in breaking into the music industry.

There were a series of professionally run master class workshops throughout the day, on subjects such as music production, recording a demo, lyric writing and vocal and instrument lessons.

  • The seminar concluded with a panel discussion featuring world class producers and music industry professionals including:
  • Edward J "UK" Nixon, from the Grammy Award winning dance music production team The Justice League
  • Greg Haver, producer of bands such as the Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals and The Lost Prophets
  • Bradley McIntosh, former member of S Club 7 and now a song writer and producer
  • Ariana D'Amato, a young performer who launched her career through the CCP Musical Youth Studio and has recently signed a recording and film deal with Island Records

There were also performances from top UK talent including Noble, Dray and Natalie P.Y.T.

CCP Musical Youth hopes to organise another seminar soon, so for more information, watch this space!
